On the morning of Sunday, March 3, 2019, cyclists of all levels will meet up at Lake Walk Town Center to start their day with either a 20, 40, 70, or even 100 mile bike ride. Since 2016, the CHI St. Joseph Gran Fondo has brought together riders and athletes from all over the Brazos Valley to celebrate cancer survivors and raise money and awareness for the CHI St. Joseph Cancer Center. Donations and proceeds from the ride benefit the Center and help provide support for cancer patients receiving treatment.
Why ride? Various route distances allow riders of all levels the opportunity to experience this event. Whether its your first time on a bike or have years of experience, Gran Fondo provides a race designed to be a fun experience all while giving back to our community and the people receiving cancer treatment right here in Bryan/College Station.
The ride will have a rolling start at 7:30 am on Sunday, March 3rd, but attendees and guests will be treated to entertainment, food, drink and activities for children throughout the day and even the entire weekend.
Want to make a weekend of the event? Lake Walk will have an outdoor concert on Saturday, March 2nd for your enjoyment. Beginning at 6:00 PM on Saturday, enjoy food trucks and more before Grey Vinyl (a classic rock cover band) takes the stage at 7:00 PM.
